Sophie Gorman, a Skaneateles senior, won third place in the Bousquet Holstein PLLC annual photography contest and received $100 for her image “Irish dancer in field.”
continued The firm’s annual photography contest is open to any Syracuse and Onondaga County High School students in grades 9 through 12. The theme for this year's contest was inspired by the “From New York to Corrymore: Robert Henri and Ireland” exhibit at the Everson Museum of Art. The exhibit included Robert Henri paintings of Irish landscapes and portraits, particularly children, created during the time of his travels to Ireland between 1913 and 1928.
The contest challenged students to discover and capture the unique perspectives of vibrant immigrant cultures and heritage found in their own families, in their neighborhoods, and in communities throughout the region.
Each year Bousquet Holstein features the winning image on the firm’s Thanksgiving card with a short biography about the student photographer. In addition, the photographs of all finalists will be posted on their website at bhlawpllc.com.
