Caz Rowing, West Lake Sculling members compete at Head of the Charles Regatta

On Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21, members of the Cazenovia Rowing Club and West Lake Sculling Club — a subsidiary of the CRC — competed at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston. More than 10,000 rowers took their turns on the 5,400-meter course along the Charles River in front of more than 300,000 spectators.

Local participants included Craig Buckhout, Beverly Warner, Linda Moriarty, Karie Ballway and Dave Reed.

Buckhout and Reed are doubles partners as are the mother and daughter team of Moriarty and Ballway. Warner competed in a single scull.

CRC member Alan Haig also competed in a single scull.

The club also sent five members to the regatta to work in volunteer positions during the weekend.
