LETTERS: DeWitt Community Library board president thanks Friends group

To the editor:

October 21 through 27 is the annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries week. On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the DeWitt Community Library, I want to publicly thank the Friends of DCL who contribute so much of their time and expertise to significantly enhance library services. Over the years, the Friends have donated funds to cover the costs of children’s programming, special collections and equipment. The Friends volunteer in the library and with special events. We are truly grateful for all that our Friends group does.

Our library is even more special thanks to the Friends. The funds they raise and the assistance they provide definitely put the icing on the cake. I think most patrons would be surprised to learn how many of the services and programs they enjoy are supported by the Friends.

Anyone who is interested in joining and supporting this wonderful group can get a membership form at the DeWitt Community Library or by calling 446-3578. “The Dewitt Community Library has always played such an important role in my life and my family’s life,” said Friends past-president and active Friends member Joanne Chamberlain. “I truly enjoy being able to give something back by being an active member of the Friends.”

Thank you, Friends of DeWitt Community Library, for providing resources to, advocating on behalf of, and volunteering your time at the library.

Wendy Ressler, President, DeWitt Community Library Board of Trustees
