Mission: Wolf

At 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, Beaver Lake Nature Center hosts the founders of Mission: Wolf of Silver Cliff, Colorado, for a program with live timber wolves. Mission: Wolf has evolved from a very remote sanctuary for wolves and wolf-dog hybrids into a leading nationwide force supporting wolf education and captive wolf welfare. This program will focus on dispelling the many myths people associate with the wolf, discouraging private ownership of wild animals as pets and supporting wild habitat protection. $15; registration required.

Holiday Herbal Hors d’oeuvres

Beaver Lake Nature Center celebrates the culinary properties of herbs with Holiday Herbal Hors d'oeuvres at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7. This workshop introduces several delicious recipes just in time for the holidays. Participants will learn the techniques to prepare several hors d'oeuvres made from herbs and complimentary ingredients, followed by a taste-test as a finale to the afternoon. $11; registration required.

Cloud formations

At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, Beaver Lake Nature Center offers an in-depth look into clouds and cloud formations. A naturalist will discuss topics including the different types of clouds and the formation process. $5; registration required.

Yoga at Beaver Lake

This fall, Beaver Lake Nature Center will offer a five-session Yoga class at 9 a.m. Tuesdays from Nov. 13 to Dec. 11. Benefits of Yoga can include increased cardio fitness and strength, improved flexibility and balance, stress reduction and weight management. Yoga at Beaver Lake Nature Center is a way to start the day feeling balanced, relaxed and energized. The cost is $47 per person for all five Tuesdays; registration required

Nature puppets

At 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, Beaver Lake Nature Center invites children for Nature Puppets. A walk in the woods at Beaver Lake Nature Center will enliven children's imaginations and inspire a puppet show once back in the new Children's Room. Children will have the opportunity to make one of the nature center's new wildlife puppets come to life, and to create their own puppets to take home. Designed for children 6 to 12 years old, accompanied by a parent or guardian. $9; registration required.
