Baldwinsville On Nov. 6, we will go to the poles and cast our votes for the local, state and federal candidates who we believe will do the best job for our people. It is one of the finest examples of freedom in, undeniably, the greatest republic of the world.
As most of you are aware, on the local front, we have two special election races: town councilor and highway superintendent. I want to share with you who I am voting for to be our next town councilor, and why I am choosing this particular candidate.
I’ve known Russ Johnson for many years. We were both in law enforcement together (with different agencies) and, coincidentally, since retirement, we have both chosen parallel careers in the health care industry. What has always impressed me about Russ is his ability to juggle so many different things at once, while still having the wherewithal to maintain effectiveness. For example, while Russ was leading one of the busiest small city criminal investigations divisions in New York State, he also led Oswego county government out of near collapse, completed his undergraduate degree at SUNY Oswego and, most importantly, was (and still is, of course) a great husband to Sue and awesome father to little Susanne – this was done all at the same time. That’s the kind of work ethic I can relate to.
Knowing so many town residents as I do, I can comfortably say that Russ Johnson is exactly what our new town board needs: a candidate who has a history of significant accomplishments and the energy and experience to do it right.
Please consider casting you vote for Russ Johnson. As a resident of Lysander for nine years, I can assure you he will work tirelessly to help make our town a better place for our kids.
