Baldwinsville I am glad to see both political contests in Lysander have challengers this year, from the Democratic and Republican parties. For the first time that I know of, we have two people running for the office of Lysander Highway Superintendent. Let me also restate I am not a member of a political party. While most people know I disagree with both town board majorities, and I am for this position remaining elected, I feel Chris Patrick would be a great asset in the position of highway superintendent. What we have lacked in Lysander is people to run for our town offices that have a sense of civic duty and the best interests of the community as a whole in mind. He holds a lot of skills necessary for the job, and has the dedication and desire necessary to do the job.
Without Chris' personal issues with the sewer problems in Whispering Oaks, the residents and surrounding area would probably be still dealing with those issues. This is exactly what Lysander needs, someone who cares about neighborhood and community problems, and works to resolve them in a timely manner.
He has managed employees and served in the Navy as a reactor operator on a nuclear sub. He is not afraid to look at the broader picture, and will work toward sharing more services with the other municipalities in the area.
Whether you vote for or against appointing the position of highway supervisor, I suggest electing Chris Patrick for Lysander Highway Superintendent.
