Brothers get away from Proctor in AA playoff opener

CBA tops Raiders 56-33, will meet West Genny in semifinals

— “I thought we played hard but we made mistakes, especially in the kicking game,” Casamento said.

Casamento was quick to credit the Raiders' performance, especially since his squad handled Proctor, 35-6, on this same field back in early September.

“The progress they made from week two to now was amazing,” he said. “That’s one of the best coaching jobs I’ve ever seen.”

Proctor coach Jerry Fiorini felt CBA won the game in the trenches.

“They have a good offensive line,” he said. “They controlled the line of scrimmage and that helped their running game.”

West Genesee (4-4) defeated Liverpool, 36-25, in its quarterfinal, scoring twice in the final two minutes to pull it out.

The Brothers defeated the Wildcats, 35-20, on Sept. 20. Salter had a huge night then, rushing for 184 yards and three touchdowns, and there's no question he and his CBA teammates want to fully atone for WG beating them 56-35 in last year's sectional final.
