Cazenovia The Fourth Annual Canoe and Kayak Paddle, a fundraising event for the Joel David Namy Scholarship Fund, was held Sunday, Sept. 16 on Cazenovia Lake.
A total of $1,625 was raised during this year's event.
The fund was created in honor of the late Joel Namy, who passed away while serving as a Cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He was a Class of 2005 graduate of Cazenovia High School.
Recipients of the scholarship exemplify qualities of selflessness and resilience while demonstrating the ability to serve as a role model to the community and Cazenovia High School.
Participants in the fundraising event enjoyed a leisurely paddle on Cazenovia Lake followed by a gathering at Lakeside Park.
