Cazenovia There will be an “Overview of Medicare” presentation by Marilyn (Mimi) Hall from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at the Community Resources for Independent Seniors Office, located at 101 Nelson St. — next to McDonald’s — on Route 20 in Cazenovia.
The presentation will be an overview of the Medicare Program as well as information about United Healthcare, Medicare Advantage and Part D choices available for 2013.
The Medicare Open Enrollment period starts Oct. 15, 2012.
If interested residents would like to schedule a meeting, home visit or enroll, they will have the opportunity to understand what potential solutions United Healthcare Medicare Solutions has to offer, in order to meet their needs.

CRIS, a 501(c)3 organization, was formed in September 2009 to address the needs of seniors in the greater Cazenovia area. CRIS-CAT, a program of CRIS, is a free transportation service for residents age 55 and over that was prioritized as the first service to promote aging in one’s community.
CRIS-CAT provides rides for residents in the towns of Cazenovia, Fenner and Nelson to medical appointments, shopping, grooming appointments and other important events. To date, the program has provided more than 550 free rides by 50 volunteer drivers in the community. To schedule a ride, call 655-0612 three to five days in advance of desired date.
