LETTERS: Patrick seeks highway superintendent seat

— If elected, I will work in a cooperative and constructive manner with the current administration. I will work to build a unified and cohesive team within the highway department and across all town functions. We all have to be pulling in the same direction to have positive and productive government that represents and responds to all the people of Lysander. Continued partisanship and gridlock must end. I fully support the efforts of our administration (and our sister community of Van Buren) to change the highway superintendent position from elected to appointed. I believe taxpayers see the benefits of approving this referendum. We need to use this window of opportunity to combine our resources and maximize the beneficial impact for everyone. We can no longer financially sustain stifled cooperation within our government and sister communities with the same old excuses. Phrases like, “We’ve always done it that way” or “This is MY department” are no longer acceptable. You can change this with your vote. Please help the town’s current forward motion. Please vote yes on the referendum and vote Chris Patrick for highway superintendent this November.

Please email me with any questions at patrickforhighwaysuper@gmail.com. I welcome the opportunity to hear from the citizens of Lysander.

Christopher Patrick is the democrat candidate for Lysander Highway Superintendent.
