Seniors, friends and family come out to support Canton Woods Senior Center during Walk for the Woods 2012.

Despite poor weather, the event had a successful turn out.

“The rain did not dampen the spirits of Walk for the Woods 2012 participants,” said Ruth Troy, director of the senior center. “This is our third year holding this fun fundraiser. Canton Woods Walk for the Woods 2012 raised over $1,500 for Canton Woods Senior Center. This success is due to the support of our sponsors and the dedicated people who participate in the walk.”

Troy said the center was “very grateful to our Walk for the Woods 2012 sponsors United Healthcare Medicare Solutions, Seneca Federal Savings and Loan and Onondaga Physical Therapy.”

She also thanked Abbott's Farm, Baker High School Key Club, MVP Health Care, the center’s neighbors at McHarrie Place and photographer Larry Barnett for additional support.
