Salina Democrats tap Carrie Roseamelia as town party chair

— In 2011, in her first-ever bid for public office, Roseamelia ran for town council in Salina’s Fourth Ward and drew 487 votes, losing to Republican Michael Delvecchio Jr.’s 846.

Her party’s town-wide standard-bearer, supervisor candidate Patrick Foster, was also overwhelmed last year by incumbent Republican Mark Nicotra, 3,572 to 1,775.

The only Democrat elected to the five-member town board last Election Day was Ward 2 incumbent Councilor James Magnarelli, who turned back a challenge by Republican Tom Saya, 763 to 648.

This year, Roseamelia looks forward to supporting the candidacies of Democrats Julie Cecile in her run for Onondaga County Family Court judge and Dan Maffei in his campaign in the 24th Congressional District.
