KeyBank’s ‘You Choose’ charity comes to Manlius

Charity lets Manlius residents decide where donations go

— KeyBank has announced the launch of “You Choose, Manlius!” The promotion allows Manlius residents to help the bank decide which worthy nonprofit organizations in the 13104 ZIP code will receive donations of up to $1,000 from KeyBank.

A total of $5,000 will be donated to seven local nonprofit organizations. Balloting begins Sept. 24 and continues through Oct. 23. Ballots are available at KeyBank’s Manlius branch, located at 7670 Highbridge Road. Winning organizations will be announced Oct. 29.

“You Choose, Manlius!” is part of KeyBank’s grand opening celebration for the new Manlius branch, which features four teller stations, four private offices, two drive-up teller windows, a drive-up ATM and eight-seat conference room that is available for public use.

Kevin Holmquist, a 20-year employee at KeyBank who most recently served as relationship manager at KeyBank’s Nottingham branch, has been named branch manager and will lead a staff of eight.

KeyBank contributes to many nonprofit organizations throughout the Central New York region. The “You Choose” program was developed specifically to reach out to smaller nonprofits community organizations. Three $1,000 gifts and four $500 gifts will we awarded to the nonprofit organizations that receive the most votes.

“This program puts the spotlight on some local nonprofits that may be lesser known but no less valuable than our larger regional nonprofits,” said Stephen Fournier, president of KeyBank’s Central New York District. “KeyBank support for community nonprofits goes back over 180 years. We realize we are only as strong as the communities we serve, and strong communities need the business community to support the nonprofit sector.”

Votes must be cast at the Manlius branch in person by 4 p.m. Oct. 23. Only nonprofits headquartered in the Manlius area with a ZIP code of 13104 are eligible.

“We think ‘You Choose, Manlius!’ will be an engaging contest for the entire community,” Holmquist said. “We look forward to everyone in town coming to visit our new branch to nominate and vote for the projects and organizations they value most.”

Voting is open to all adults with a Manlius area address with a ZIP code of 13104; participants do not need to be KeyBank customers.
