Cazenovia This holiday season, the Friends of Lorenzo announced they are thrilled to offer a very special raffle; a hand-sculpted table created by local business owner, Dr. David Eldridge.
This donated 19th century adaptation was personally selected and produced by Eldridge, based on Lorenzo’s collection. The Friends will announce the winner on Dec. 20.
Eldridge, whose part-time wood-working hobby has blossomed into full-blown artistry has put much time and thought into the piece, which is an historical adaptation of a cherry washstand (holly secondary wood), circa 1808, located in Lorenzo’s northeast bedchamber. It follows the Hepplewhite style of the 19th century and stands approximately 34.5-inches high, 15.75-inches wide and 15.75-inches deep.
The Eldridges have long been supporters of Lorenzo and admirers of its furniture collection.
“It [Lorenzo] is an anchor to our community, establishing our identity as an early 19th century village,” Eldridge said, expressing his continued commitment to Lorenzo.
The Friends of Lorenzo hope area residents will support their cause by taking a chance on winning this historic piece.
