Village offers update on public parking

— —Parking use is usually lightest on Mondays and heaviest on Saturdays.

—When the college and the high school are not in session, there is no parking problem in downtown Cazenovia.

The village greatly appreciates the efforts of most residents to observe parking rules. The free pass on overtime parking tickets for anyone who has not received one in the past six months has proved popular.

Two-hour parking regulations are enforced Monday through Saturday until 6 p.m. Two-hour parking regulations do not apply on Sundays and holidays or after 6 p.m. Parking regulations in handicapped spaces apply at all times. There is no overnight parking on any village streets.

The village has attempted to clearly mark parking and to especially mark handicapped parking, fire hydrants, drop off zones and other areas where safety is a factor.

When in doubt, obey the posted signs. Signage is fairly heavy, but visitors especially sometimes fail to notice the signs.

For help with special parking situations, residents should call the Cazenovia Police Department at 655-3276. Anyone wishing to bring a matter to the attention of the Cazenovia Village Board should call Parking Trustee Peggy Van Arnam at 655-8952.

Peggy Van Arnam is a trustee for the village of Cazenovia. She can be reached at 655-8952.
