COLUMN: Library Focus - Support the library during Barnes and Noble fundraiser

— It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. In fact, thanks to the merchandisers who started blasting Christmas carols the second Halloween was over, Christmas is already feeling a bit delayed. Nevertheless, the library is here to help you celebrate in grand style while helping support even more library programs and services.

Take a chance on winning yourself or your loved one a sweet new piece of technology that will keep them entertained 24/7 with eBooks, Angry Birds and more. We’re selling chances on a Nook HD+ at the circulation desk for a drawing on Dec. 3. Tickets are $1 a piece or six for $5 and you must be 18 to enter. You may not win, but the odds are better than the lottery and the proceeds have local benefits.

If you prefer a more guaranteed return on your investment, you can still help the library by participating in the library fundraiser Nov. 24 at the Barnes and Noble in Clay. You can even buy a present for the library from our wish list if you are so inclined.
