Bees stopped again in state volleyball final

B'ville reaches title match against Mercy, falls in four sets

Against the Long Island champs from Ward Melville, B’ville won the opener 25-19 and lost the second set 25-15. It was the same against Mercy, the Bees edging its way to a 27-25 win in the first set, only to drop the next set 25-22.

Needing at least one set against Clarkstown South to stay alive, B’ville again won a close one, 26-24, to start out before falling 25-12 in its last set of round-robin play.

Mercy went 5-1 to advance to the finals. Though B’ville had the same mark as Ward Melville (3-3), the Bees earned more overall points head-to-head, and as a result made a return to the championship round.
