To the editor:
All the candidates who ran for office in this past election deserve our heartfelt thanks. They gave their time, their energy, their resources and sacrificed their privacy.
On the local level, I was very sorry to see Levi Spires lose his race for the New York State Assembly.
I have nothing against his opponent personally, but I believe we need a fresh, more strategic perspective in Albany and Washington. I hope he will run in the next election.
He seems well-qualified to help steer our community and our state toward a more stable future where social and fiscal priorities are addressed in the context of today’s complex business-socio environment.
As a Republican, I was devastated at the results of the national election.
As we hang off the fiscal cliff, Mitt Romney was the man who had the international financial expertise to unravel our unwieldy bureaucracy and address this critical situation.
I believe that his loss was our loss.
