Skaneateles Welch Allyn, a leading global manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, has announced Joseph Hennigan has joined the company as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Hennigan will lead the Welch Allyn global finance team to align finance and business strategies with the strategic objectives of the privately-held business. Hennigan will report directly to Steve Meyer, president and CEO at Welch Allyn, and will work closely with the executive staff and board of directors at Welch Allyn.
Hennigan most recently served as managing director of the Allyn Family Office, a provider of legal, tax, investment and other services to the shareholders of Welch Allyn. Prior to this role, Hennigan was the senior vice president and CFO at HandHeld Products, Inc. and was responsible for the full range of finance functions as well as legal, business development and IT. He helped HandHeld Products grow into a highly successful business in the data collection industry; and when the company was acquired by Honeywell in 2008, Hennigan played a key role in the integration of the two companies.
“Joe brings his previous experience as a CFO and distinctive knowledge of the healthcare industry to the company, as well as extensive tax, merger and acquisition, financial planning and analysis and accounting expertise in the manufacturing and high technology areas,” said Meyer. “In addition, Joe has the benefit of knowing many members of my executive team, shareholders and board of directors, which will allow him to hit the ground running. All of these qualities make him well-suited to be successful in the CFO position at Welch Allyn.”
For much of his early career, Hennigan was a partner in KPMG, a global provider of audit, tax and business consulting services. While at KPMG, Hennigan provided services to his clients while located in a variety of cities, including Washington D.C.; London; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Rochester, N.Y.
Hennigan received his bachelor’s degree and master’s in business administration from Syracuse University and is a certified public accountant. He currently resides in Skaneateles.
