Manlius The new Manlius YMCA is open and ready to strengthen the community.
It all starts Saturday, Nov. 10, with a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A ribbon cutting is planned for 10:15 a.m., and door prizes will be given away around 1 p.m. All attendees will receive a free one-week trial membership.
Visitors won’t just get to tour the 60,000 square-foot facility, which has been renovated to meet the needs of the community — they’ll be invited to join in the fun. Everyone’s welcome to participate in the following activities:
Turf field: Open for free play, noon to 2 p.m.
Tennis center: Tennis skills clinics, 10 a.m. to noon; Meet the pros, 12:30 to 1:30 a.m.
School age childcare center: Games, turkey craft, balloon sculpting, face painting, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Athletic performance center: Speed clinic (age 8-18), 12 to 12:30 p.m.; Agility clinic (age 8-18), 12:30 1 p.m.; Observe post-training athletic performance assessments, 10 a.m. to noon; Observe adult boot camp, noon to 1 p.m.
Yoga center: 20-minute small-group demos, including: Power yoga, 10 to 11 a.m.; Restorative yoga, 11 a.m. to noon; Yoga with meditation, noon to 1 p.m.; Yoga for healthy living, 1 to 2 p.m.
