Burrill E. Wells, Jr. award to be presented Nov. 15

— McHarries Legacy membership meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Museum at the Shacksboro Schoolhouse, 46 Canton St., Baldwinsville. At this time, the Burrill E. Wells, Jr. Historic Preservation Award will be presented.

The Burrill E. Wells, Jr. Historic Preservation Award is named after one of McHarries Legacy’s charter members whose family has been in Baldwinsville since pre-Civil War days. According to Museum Curator Sue McManus, “Burrill was an enthusiastic supporter of both Baldwinsville and the historic preservation movement. He believed strongly that time was running short if Baldwinsville's historic fabric was to be preserved.”

Burrill passed away unexpectedly in 1980 at the age of 56.
