Baseball Bees slam F-M, win first sectional title since '04

B'ville's 10-3 win completes dominant playoff run

— Blewett struck out F-M’s Scott Bellina, and on the same pitch, Levanti threw out Hornets centerfielder J.P. Quinn as he tried to steal second. And that seemed to give the Bees a spark.

“We talk about momentum and carrying it from one situation to the next situation," Penafeather said.

B'ville did just that in the bottom of the sixth. Eight of their first nine batters reached base as the Bees put the game out of reach.

“We take a lot of (batting practice) and we just get excited to hit,” Levanti said. “We go up there and we’re not afraid of anybody.”

The Bees advance to play the Section II champions next Tuesday at St. Rose's College, near Albany, needing one win to advance to the June 9 state final four at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton.
