Play Ball! Optimist Field gets new outfield

— That spurred the start of the program last year, when the teams played at Jamesville Elementary School, Hopkins Road Park and Alliance Bank Stadium. This year, Optimist Field and Bishop Grimes High School will be home for the teams that come from across the county.

“My labor of love is to provide that opportunity to that kid who may not want to play football, but keep playing baseball,” he said. “Baseball is a game that has to be played a lot to get good at it, and there wasn’t the opportunity to do that before.”
