Madison County Office for the Aging Executive Director Theresa Davis and advocate Patty Edwards will share an informative presentation regarding the services provided by the Office for the Aging at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 in the Cazenovia Public Library Community Room.
Though the name — Madison County Office for the Aging — implies that it is a county department, it is, in fact, a private not-for-profit organization whose mission is to advocate, assist, and provide services that enrich the quality of life and promote the independence and dignity of older individuals and their families.
Currently, there are 30 programs and services at the Office for the Aging that are offered to senior citizens aged 60 and over.
As executive director, Davis administers these programs and services that empower and sustain older persons and their caregivers.
She also works to ensure that departments of local government and private agencies are aware of and responsive to the current and future needs of older residents of Madison County, many of whom are frail and isolated throughout the county.
This opportunity to learn what the Madison County Office for the Aging has to offer is free and open to the public.
