Three F-M boats medal at state rowing championships

Top boys, girls crews headed to nationals in New Jersey

And the remainder of the Hornet state team faired quite well as the boys Junior 8+ (Patrick Miles, Luke Oliverio, Matt Hausladen, Shane Dugan, Sean Grathwol, Liam Kohler, Vincent Morgillo, Henry Hennigan and Nick Carapella) finished fifth scholastically.

The second girls Senior 4+ (Janel Saponara, Brenna Podesta, Caroline Spina and Olivia Williams, with coxswain Matthew Gallagher) finished ninth scholastically. The boys Lightweight 4+ (Matt Gaglione, Tony Zhang, Mike Caputo, Brad Harris, and Nick Licitra) finished fourth.

Rowing at their first state championships, the girls Novice 8+ (Maya Schnall, Kiersten Drapeau, Delaney Fuller, Nina Puetzer, Jessika Coleman, Teagan Neveldine, Megan Hyla, Michaela Navone and Taylor Vincent) placed third scholastically.

The girls Novice 4+ (Laura Duntley, Sabrina Nabinger, Nancy Bansbach, Jade Miller and Jiahui Liao) rowed to a 6th place finish, while the boys Novice 4+ (Josh Bain, Phil Meyers, Sean Miles, Dan Cornman, and Nick Montoya) finished third scholastically.

Finally, the boys Novice 8+ (Evan Carr, Calvin Stauffer, Chris Shyne, AJ Dowthwaite, Nick Schoeck, Andrew Tongue, Luke Flanders, Liam Sullivan, David Tet) finished seventh in the scholastic division.

Most of the team rows Saturday in the Syracuse Chargers Invitational on Onondaga Lake, their last meet of the season, though the better boats still had plenty of work to do.
