North syracuse cops nab burglar with help of historian

— The village's application for a grant for $94,378 to do green infrastructure work on Centerville Park was accepted by the county’s Save the Rain program.

The village hired two full time seasonal employees for its department of public works. Brian West and Neil Door were hired. Patricia Richards was also hired as an additional part-time animal control officer.

North Syracuse's seventh annual Family Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Lonergan Park. The park is located off Route 11 behind Stickley Furniture not far from Sweetheart Corners.

Admission is free and there will be entertainment for the kids, including music, a dunk tank, inflatables, food and craft vendors, and a Kids' Teddy Bear Parade, among other events. Shuttle service will be available from the North Syracuse Junior High.

“It's a great thing,” said Deputy Mayor Chuck Henry. “I hope everybody shows up. It's a great time for the whole family”
