B’ville student places first in State Skills Competition

— Ryan McArdell, a senior at Baker High School, placed first in the automotive refinishing category at the New York State SkillsUSA competition held on April 26 at the New York State Fairgrounds. He is in the automotive collision technology program at OCM BOCES. By placing first, he has qualified to compete in the National SkillsUSA competition, to be held in Kansas City in June.

SkillsUSA is a national organization serving high school and college students preparing for careers in technical and service occupations. The organization provides quality educational experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and character development.
