LETTERS: A night the kids at Camp Good Days will never forget

To the editor:

The children of Camp Good Days & Special Times gratefully thank Pete Sala, Carol Ryan and the Syracuse University Carrier Dome staff for a “Monstrous” Good Time at the March 10 Monster Truck show that was held at the Carrier Dome!

Walking through the pit of giant trucks and dirt as far as they could see, the children’s eyes were as wide as saucers! And then to see their faces when they walked into their “Private Party Box”, it was clear they felt like royalty. The endless supply of pizza, cookies, soda, juice, candy, chicken, cupcakes and more was something they only dream of.

Barbara Soule was a champion host making sure every single, solitary need we had was met with a beautiful smile and a genuine heart full of compassion… she was truly exceptional! And with Donna Pascarella and Adi from the Dome staff consistently checking on us all through the night – made this a night they will never forget!

The generosity of Pete and Carol and the staff at the Carrier Dome means so much to Camp Good Days. Some of our children have gone through some devastating experiences in the last six months, due to dealing with a cancer diagnosis, but as you will see from the attached collage of photos, you can “feel the love” radiating through them! It was pure joy in their eyes and hearts that could actually be felt in that box all night long. Pete, Carol and the Carrier Dome staff made this happen, helping them to forget the reality of their situations for one spectacular, magical night.

In sincere gratitude and appreciation,

Renee DeVesty, Regional Director, Camp Good Days & Special Times
