Detectives investigate rash of burglaries

— Detectives are investigating a recent rash of break-ins at local self-storage facilities, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department.

Over the past two weeks, three self-storage facilities have been broken into during the overnight hours. In all three incidents, the suspect broke into multiple storage units stealing a variety of property such as electronics and tools.

Break-ins were reported to have occurred on March 12 at: B&C Storage facility, located at 2732 West Entry Road, where five storage units were broken into; and at Store More Pay Less facility, located at 7029 Van Buren Road, where 12 storage units were broken into.

A break-in was also reported to have occurred on March 22 at Uncle Bob’s Self Storage facility, located at 8239 Thompson Road, where 48 storage units broken into.

Detectives conducting the investigation believe the incidents are in fact related and believe the suspect is a white male, operating a dark colored SUV. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office by calling 435-3081 or by sending an e-mail to sherifftips@ongov.net.
