So even though Ludden only led 37-33 going to the fourth quarter, Eckstrom's absence allowed Kaigler to continue controlling the paint, as he added nine more points, giving him 15 for the half and 18 points overall, which matched Hackett for team honors. Kaigler would finish with 12 rebounds, too.
A 12-2 push to open the period put the Huskies away. Often, the passes to Kaigler and Hackett came from senior guard Matt Rogers, who had seven assists and four steals.
In defeat, Olean's Mark Schmidt led his side with 14 points, though only two of them came in the second half. Ludden, as a whole, held the Huskies to just 29.6 percent (16-for-54) shooting while making 48.9 percent (22-for-45) of its shots.
