continued The village plans to make both ponds handicap accessible in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Plans are also in the works to build a new grass patio and a pavilion overlooking the lower pond.
“The pavilion will overlook the lower pond and will be a great spot for wedding photos or to just enjoy the nature there,” Serafin said.
Since the renovations will be visible from Fayette Street in the center of the village, they will benefit economic development in the village by enhancing its “Main Street” area, Serafin said.
Pending the approval of the board, the village will hire a contractor and start work on the project this spring to be completed before the end of the summer.
