Tickets now available for CHS production of ‘State Fair’

— Tickets are now on sale for the Cazenovia High School Drama Club production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “State Fair,” to be presented at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 15, as well as 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17, in the Cazenovia High School Auditorium.

Tickets may be reserved by visiting the drama club page on the school’s website, caz.cnyric.org, or by calling 655-5309. All seats for the Friday and Saturday shows will be $9. Thursday’s show will be free for senior citizens.

Seniors may reserve their free seats in advance and pick them up at the door on the day of the performance. All other Thursday seats can be reserved for $9.

Casting for the show was completed in December and rehearsals have been underway for several weeks.

“State Fair” was first created as a film, and was then rewritten for the Broadway stage in the 1990s. The updated version has many familiar R&H melodies, including “Grand Night for Singing,” “Might as Well Be Spring” and “Boys and Girls Like You and Me.”
