Solve a puzzle at your community library

— The Onondaga County Public Library system is hosting its third annual Library Puzzler contest. In the weeks leading up to National Library Week (April 8 through 14), your community libraries invite you to find clues and solve this Library Puzzler: Which Character has disappeared from which well-known Book, and in which Onondaga County Public Library did this happen?

The hunt for clues begins on Monday, March 12. Look for clues to character, book and library at any of the following east side community libraries: DeWitt Community Library, Fayetteville Free Library, Manlius Library, East Syracuse Free Library and Minoa Library. Each week new clues will be revealed.

CNY residents are encouraged to submit their solution by 5 p.m. Monday, April 9, at their local library. Entries with all three correct answers will be entered into a drawing for prizes, and winners will be drawn at random and notified no later than Friday, April 13. Prizes may include gift cards to Barnes & Noble, Wegmans and Regal Cinemas.

“It’s a great way to raise awareness about all of the community libraries in Onondaga County,” said Brian Abbott, paralibrarian at DeWitt Community Library and organizer of the contest.

Bookmark Entry Forms will be available in all OCPL Libraries and online. Clues will be posted prominently and may be found in library publications (such as newsletters) or on library websites. Visit onlib.org for more details in the coming weeks.

To get you started, here’s an Eagle Bulletin exclusive clue: All aboard.

National Library Week 2012 will be celebrated from Sunday, April 8, through Saturday, April 14. National Library Week began in 1958, sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries nationwide.
