Baldwinsville Danae Polsin, 20, of Baldwinsville crosses the finish line during this year’s Paige’s Butterfly Run held Saturday, June 2, in downtown Syracuse. Polsin came in first place among the female contestants with a time of 18:55. Steve Hicks, of Syracuse, came in first place among the male contestants with a time of 16 minutes flat. According to Chris Arnold, the event had more than 2,600 registrants and raised more than $200,000, both record-breaking statistics for the event. “We had a great, extremely successful event this year,” said Arnold, who is the event organizer and father to the event’s namesake, Paige Yeomans Arnold. Paige was a first grade student at Palmer Elementary School in Baldwinsville when she was diagnosed with Leukemia in 1993. She succumbed to the disease in 1994.
