Lysander Parks and Recreation program

Walking and yoga at Lysander Park

Yoga is all about the union of the body, mind and spirit, and when you add the extra element of the outdoors, you can also make it about becoming one with nature. Enjoy and connect with the wonders of and freshness of the outdoors. The program consists of 35 minutes of walking and 40 minutes of yoga. Increases cardio fitness, helps with weight control, enhances core strength, and improves flexibility while relieving stress. Participants (16 and older) should bring sneakers, water and a mat (also consider sunscreen and bug spray). This program will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays from July 10 to Aug. 14 at Lysander Town Park.

Youth golf lessons

This beginner level golf clinic (for youth age 6 to 18) will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 10 to 19 (session two) and from July 31 to Aug. 9 (session 3) at Timber Banks Golf Course. Youth golf clubs are available through the Sticks for Kids program, which is a great way to let your child learn the game of golf without buying expensive kids clubs. Clubs are loaned on a first come, first serve policy with a security deposit of $50. Please contacts the Parks & Recreation Office for availability; kids clubs are limited to the first 10 golfers.
