Baldwinsville scholars announced

B’ville residents honored for excellence

Cathleen Green, of Baldwinsville, was honored for academic excellence at the College of Saint Rose in Albany. Green was honored for publication of an article in the College's Journal of Undergraduate Research.

Amanda Sanefski, of Baldwinsville, a student at Bishop Ludden Jr./Sr. High School, and James Schmidt, of Baldwinsville, were recently awarded the 2012 Saint Michael's College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience. The award recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in volunteer service and academic achievement.

Eric Schreiber, a mechanical technology major from Baldwinsville, was a member of the 2011-12 SUNY Canton American Society of Civil Engineers Steel Bridge Team, which placed eighth in the nation with their economical and efficient steel bridge. The college was one of 47 teams to participate in the ASCE and American Institute of Steel Construction National Steel Bridge Championships, held over Memorial Day Weekend at Clemson University, Clemson, S.C. Their top-ten position followed a first place victory at the ASCE Regional Championships recently hosted at SUNY Canton.

The team took third place in construction speed with a 6.70 minute overall assembly time. The students additionally took 11th place in the lightness category, and 13th in display.

Graduates announced

Roy M. Andersen, of Baldwinsville, received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western New England University.

Brandon Rubadou, of Baldwinsville, received a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering with distinction from Worcester Polytechnic Institute on May 12.
