— One year was all it took for Jordan-Elbridge girls lacrosse alumni Chelsea Maitland and Lilly Patrick to experience life as champions at the college level.

The 2011 J-E High School graduates helped Onondaga Community top Monroe Community College 6-5 in the NJCAA championship game on May 13.

A former midfielder/attacker at J-E, Maitland was put on defense by coach MacDonald and was one of the top defenders for the OCC women's team, being honored with 2nd Team All League and All Tournament Team awards her freshman year. She also finished the season with several goals.

Patrick, who transferred to OCC from St. John Fisher in January, also had an outstanding freshman year playing defense for the Lazers.
