Community Resources for Independent Seniors, serving those over 55 years old in the Cazenovia, Nelson and Fenner areas, recently announced the availability of its Senior Resource Directory.
CRIS received a grant from the Central New York Community Foundation to develop a Senior Resource Directory that would be available online on the CRIS website.
CRIS also is able to print copies of the directory to distribute to those unable to access the directory online.
By having the Senior Resource Directory online, it is widely available to family members who live out of the area, who may want to be able to contact services their family members may need.
For example, if a family member lives out of town and wants to know of someone they may contact to help with housecleaning, the resource directory has listings of people available to provide that service as well as many others.
People may access the CRIS website, callcris.org and click on the Senior Resource Directory tab, which will lead you to the Directory listings. The type of businesses and services are listed with descriptions and contact information. Anyone may print the Directory for their use or if they have a family member who would like a copy.
The advantage to having the resource directory listed online is that it can be kept accurate, with changes and additions made as needed. The Directory may be printed at any time with up-to-date information.
Anyone who is unable to access the directory online or unable to print the directory may ask for a copy by calling the CRIS office, 655-5743 or e-mailing, email@example.com. Please leave your name, address and telephone number and a copy will be mailed to you. Anyone may call the CRIS office with questions at any time and your call will be returned.
Those who may provide services to older adults and wish to be included in the Directory may also call 655-5743 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
CRIS will continue to add services to the directory, so check back often for new additions. The CRIS website also includes a blog which keeps residents informed about topics of interest.
