Creekside Books & Coffee merging into one space

Will be closed two days for renovations in mid-June

— Creekside Books & Coffee, located at 35 Fennell Street in the village of Skaneateles, announces an upcoming merger. After seven years of living side by side Creekside Books and Creekside Coffee are taking the plunge and uniting as one. The merger means that Creekside Books & Coffee will function as a book café, a new trend in bookstores and cafes within the indie marketplace.

“We at Creekside embrace change,” said Erika Davis owner of Creekside Books & Coffee. “Creekside is a successful business and we believe uniting our product selection and café will further enhance the special sense of place for our community and visitors. We have signed a new eight year lease, for the coffeehouse space, with the landlords at 35 Fennell Street and we plan to be here for many years to come.”

Beginning in mid-June, Creekside will begin selling its book merchandise in the coffeehouse including bestsellers, children’s, middle reader, young adult and a selection of non-fiction titles and bargain books. Creekside will also continue to carry a selection of cards and stationary, a selection of local products, and of course, all of the items on the Café menu.

They also plan to continue Wednesday Trivia Nights, Thursday Open Mic Nights, weekend musical performances and will continue to host author events, book clubs, writing workshops and the VagabondGals Travel Club.

The consolidation will require minor renovations which will take place on Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19, during which time the store will be closed. Creekside will re-open on Wednesday, June 20, with its new look and new merchandise in the coffeehouse and will continue its liquidation sale in the bookstore through July.

A special Open House will be held on Saturday, June 30, so the public can celebrate the union of books and coffee at Creekside. More details to follow.

Creekside Books & Coffee is located at 35 Fennell Street in Skaneateles, NY. The venue will continue to serve light breakfasts and lunch selections, appetizers, baked goods, specialty coffee drinks, and wine & beer.
