— Baldwinsville celebrated Memorial Day on Wednesday, May 30, with a parade and ceremony in the village. Many organizations participated in the parade portion of the event, which ended in Riverview Cemetery where a moving ceremony took place. Regarding Baldwinsville’s tradition of celebrating Memorial Day on General John A. Logan’s ordered day, May 30, Mayor Joseph Saraceni said during his speech that he received criticism for holding the parade during rush hour traffic on a Wednesday. In response, he said it forces everyone to take the time to recognize and remember what our veterans have sacrificed for every one of us.
