Graveline offered more than a spark. Her shot beat Cavallaro with 35.9 seconds left, and once again the two sides were deadlocked, 9-9, where it would stay until the end of regulation and through the first of two three-minute overtime periods, too.
WG won the draw in the second OT. Datellas again found Graveline near the net – and again, Graveline beat Cavallaro, this time for the go-ahead goal. A full 2:41 remained, but the Wildcats managed to kill it off and prevent Corning from pulling even.
The escape meant that WG was going back to SUNY-Cortland for the ninth time in 12 years, ready to play the state semifinal Friday at noon, with the championship game 24 hours later on that same Cortland turf.
