On Sunday, July 8, Maddie Meigs, a Cazenovia resident and avid fan of the New York Yankees, had her own stadium of fans watching on as she opened the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees home game by singing the National Anthem at the Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse.

Although the Yankees lost their game to the Buffalo Bisons, Meigs hit a grand slam with her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. To view her performance, visit youtube.com and search for “Maddie Meigs.”

Additional public vocal performances by Maddie include Morrisville hockey games, the Burton Street talent show, the Cazenovia Winter Festival talent show and her most recent performance at the wedding of Susan Davoli and Assistant New York State Fair Director Troy Waffner.

Meigs hopes to one day become a famous country singer.
