Skaneateles For the third year in a row, the Skaneateles Football Club is hosting a Youth Football Camp, which takes place Aug. 3 and 4.
Open to all kids from Pre-K to eighth grade, the camp this year features a new format, new coaches and speakers. More than 300 kids participated in the 2011 edition.
The camp program focuses on teaching kids about conditioning, flexibility, speed and strength, individual offensive and defensive fundamentals, position drills and skills, team offense and defense. Professional strength and conditioning coaches are on hand, too, offering speed and strength drills that campers can take home and try.
New features for the 2012 camp include a punt, pass and kick tournament for the Junior division (Pre-K through second grade) and a seven-on-seven touch football tournament in the Senior division (third through eighth grade).
Junior division sessions run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day and registration fee is $90. Senior division sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are $125. A T-shirt and lunch for both days is included. Space is limited, so to register, go to skaneatelesfootballclub.com.
