— The Rotary Club of Baldwinsville is excited to announce this year’s musical act for the concert on Paper Mill Island kicking off the 18th Annual Seneca River Days. Letizia and the Z-Band will bring their high-energy music to Baldwinsville at 6:30 p.m., Friday, July 13.

Admission is $5. The Rotary Club also requests that guests consider purchasing a duck ticket to support the club and have a chance at more than $4,000 in cash and prizes for the following day’s Great Seneca River Duck Race. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, but no coolers. Food and beverages will be available for sale on the island that evening.

The Friday evening concert is just the start of a two day, family-friendly festival that raises funds that the Rotary Club of Baldwinsville uses to give back to the community throughout the year.

Immediately after the concert, at 9:30 p.m., enjoy one of the year’s best fireworks displays with great views from Paper Mill Island or Mercer Park. Mercer Park will open at 6 p.m. with refreshments and vendor booths open all evening. Come early for a great seat.

There will be events all day Saturday, July 14, at Mercer Park, including a classic car show, children’s activities, food and games. Almost everything at the event is free to watch or participate in, making it a great day out for families. Two popular races on the river start with the Anything That Floats Contest at 2 p.m. in which homemade vessels, that cost less than $50 to make, will race from Cooper’s Marina to Mercer Park. To register for this race in advance, call the event sponsor, the Bucci Law Firm, at 635-9944. Onsite registration is always welcome.

At 4 p.m., the grand finale, the Seneca River Duck Race, begins. Make sure you buy duck tickets in advance or at the event so you can cheer on your ducks to win any of more than 10 prizes donated by local businesses including a grand prize of $1,000 cash. Winners will be announced immediately following the race. For information or duck tickets email The Rotary Club of Baldwinsville at senecariverday@yahoo.com.
