— The June meeting of the Betsy Baldwin Chapter DAR began with the ringing of bells to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. Following this brief ceremony a luncheon was held.

Bonnie Kisselstein, Town of Lysander Historian, gave a PowerPoint presentation on early churches in and around Baldwinsville. Kisselstein mentioned that there are many books in the Baldwinsville Library for those interested in reading more about the churches.

Regent Jane Jacobs announced during the meeting the passing of longtime member, Ann Yackel. Yackel was a past regent of this chapter as well as a local, yet nationally known, artist.

Earlier in the month, Regent Jane Jacobs presented a flag to Chief Mike Knowlton of the Warners Fire Department. The flag had previously been flown over the U.S. Capitol.

Officers were then installed for the upcoming term. The new officers are: Jane Jacobs (regent), Loretta Thayer (first vice regent), Ann Deck (second vice regent), Kathleen Van Wie (treasurer), Joanne Sant (registrar), Joyce Wilkinson (historian), Barbara Reeves (librarian) and Carole Menzel (chaplain). Menzel performed the swearing in ceremony.
