— Numerous Skaneateles High School students participated in the Polar Bear Plunge this year as well, including team “Interact,” made up of senior Sharon Adams, president of the high school Interact Club; junior Laura Knighton, a member of the Interact Club; and Rotary Youth Exchange Student Geraldine Vollmen, from Switzerland, who went into the water draped in the Swiss flag and insisted on jumping as part of her "American" experience.

The High School Interact Club, spearheaded by Knighton, also raised $200 for a team of teachers to take the plunge. The five teachers jumped in right after the students.
