Attacking from the start, WG amassed a 7-1 lead through two periods. Shawn Lynch proved unstoppable, scoring four times and adding an assist, while Jimmy Sauda, Jon Lauer and Tommy Hanley also converted. Laure, Robbie Michel, Matt Skrupa and Matt Schattner managed two assists apiece in the Wildcats’ 16th consecutive win.
It was much the same back at Shove Park Friday night, where the Wildcats ripped past Liverpool 6-0 for its 11th shutout of the winter – and also a clear atonement for the 2-0 struggle it had with the Warriors in Lysander back on Dec. 16.
Steadily, WG got away, scoring twice in each period as Michel, with four assists, anchored the attack. Only Erik Kurz scored twice as Lynch managed a goal and two assists, with Jon Lauer, Jimmy Pelton and Jason Keyes landing the other goals. Tinklepaugh contributed two assists.
WG takes one more road trip in the regular season, to Baldwinsville on Tuesday, and is back home Friday for a rematch with Corcoran, just as Solvay, tied with Corcoran for third place in Division I West (one point behind B’ville), is meeting Cortland-Homer at Allyn Arena.
