To the editor:
In defense of Canada geese: I love them all, and we have record flocks this winter. I live on W. Lake Street right across from where they land on our lake for safety from predators, by the way. I love the sight of them landing — a masterpiece of flight and sight. And, I take our Grand-dog for walks at night jut to hear them honking.
I am reminded of the man who complained about our fire department siren. That siren denotes that a tragedy has occurred and that help is on the way! Likewise, the presence of these geese denotes that nature is alive and well in our area. And, isn’t that a good sign? And, would these complainers rather be “deaf and dumb” so that nothing ever need “bother” them?
Nature is our best link to God, for heaven’s sake! Enjoy it!
