continued Possession of stolen property charged
At 12:01 a.m. Dec. 26, police stopped a vehicle on Syracuse Street for having tinted windows and an inadequate tail light. During the stop it was determined that the driver, Joshua Brennan, 29, of 3956 Merganser Drive, Liverpool, and Traci Simcoe, 25, of 126 Hazel Ave., East Syracuse, were in possession of a ring that had been stolen from a Baldwinsville residence on Dec. 10. Computer checks also showed that Brennan’s driver’s license was suspended. Computer checks also showed that there was a valid stay away order of protection in effect, which required Brennan to have no contact with Simcoe. Simcoe was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property. She was processed and released on her own recognizance. Brennan was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, third degree aggravated unlicensed operator, second degree criminal contempt, tinted windows and inadequate tail-lights. He was processed and arraigned before Judge McMahon who remanded him to the Justice Center Jail on bail of $2500 cash or bond to appear in court Jan. 4.
Four face DWI charges
At 2:21 a.m. Dec. 30, a vehicle was observed on Tappan Street with one headlight not working. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Shaina Brook, 20, of 8 Massey Place, Baldwinsville. Alcohol involvement was detected and upon investigation Brook was arrested and charged with DWI, DWI above .08 percent BAC, no seatbelt an inadequate headlight. Computer checks showed that her license was suspended and she was also found to be in possession of marijuana, which resulted in charges of third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana. She completed the booking process and was released to appear in court Jan. 25.
At 2:04 a.m. Dec. 31, a vehicle was observed on Tappan Street failing to yield the right of way. Police attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver fled and subsequently crashed her vehicle into a tree causing minor injuries. The driver was identified as Denise I. Morse, 43, of 104 Sargent Lane, Liverpool and was transported to Upstate Hospital for treatment. Morse was arrested and charged with DWI, failure to yield the right of way, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, inadequate headlight, unlicensed operator, unsafe start and uninspected vehicle. She was released to appear in court Jan. 18.
