— Skaneateles resident Aurelle Walton, formerly of Onondaga Street and now a resident at The Athenaeum, celebrated her 97th birthday on Jan. 2.

A celebration was held for her Wednesday, Dec. 28, at The Athenaeum, where she was surrounded by her family and friends, including several of her 11 children. There was cake and balloons, and Walton enjoyed looking at and sharing vintage photos of her and her family.

Walton, who was born in 1915, said she doesn't feel any different at age 97, and is just thankful she gets around as well as she does.

Her memories include raising her family and how great they all were, she said.
